 ...Did you know that if it makes you laugh,if it makes you cry ,if it rips out your heart ,that's a good picture?

Well,almost everyone in the continent is in a position of pausing for a picture or even videos  but if you may ask them who invented the act of taking photographs he/she can not explain. After all,this is a new era ,new generation. 

First of all,photography is the act of taking pictures while photojournalism is journalism that uses images to tell a News Story. The first photograph to be used in illustration of a newspaper story was  a depiction of barricades in Paris during the June days uprising on 25th July 1848 by Fenton.

Photos were used to enhance the text rather than the act as a medium of information in its own right.

As we take pictures and post them on our platforms ,we should be aware that pictures tells us more about you,your surrounding, feelings,situations etc . Yah,pictures tells a story. A Pictures makes history.

Although, simple as it may seem,photography has specific basics that makes it to be of quality: 

i. Good use of light

ii. Colour 

iii. A captivating moment

iv. Correct Composition for the given situation 

v. The photographer's choice of distance to their subject

Journalists who have concentrated on photography as a career face many challenges while undertaking the task: 

1. Restrictions from taking photos in certain areas by the government. 

2. Influx of photo taking  by everyone increase of gadgets 

3. Photo manipulation e.g covering riots or physical assaults. 

4. Compassion fatigue e.g people being killed by terrorists.

5. Infringement of copyright of pictures.
