LEFT HANDEDNESS IS NOT A DISABILITY

 Did you know that handedness starts in the  womb?

Fetuses starts to move their arms around 9-10 weeks .By early in the second trimester, the babies show a clear preference for sucking one thumb over the other .So handedness is probably hardwired before birth. Still most development experts say parents likely won't get a good sense of their child's dominant hand until age 2 or 3 . Many kids continue to switch hands for different tasks during early childhood.

So let us pay attention on left handers today:

 Research suggests that the left handed people make roughly 12% of population in the the continent .There is a special day for the left handed people globally on 13th August  every year and this is a day when people are made aware of the challenges that left handers goes through when trying to stand in a world that do not mostly accommodate them.

Well,there is something that caught my attention when doing some facts about left handed people,when such a person  is trying to use scissors ( ✂️ ) to cut something,there  is always a  challenge ,this is not the only tool that gets hard to use  but many other tools designed for the right handed people which leaves the other parties out. There are some factual characteristics to note on left handed people.

One,there are more left handed men than women in the world . Left handedness is believed to be as a result of an epigenetic marker - a combination of genetics ,biology and the environment but a research has revealed that forty plus aged mothers are more likely to give birth to left -handed babies .Connections between the right and the left sides of the brain are faster in left handed people which suggests that left handers are more efficient multitasker . They are prone to have negative emotions like t getting angry so quickly .

Moreover, left handed people are statically more likely to suffer from birth weight and complications at birth .Also ,according to research left handed people are more likely to have allergies than most people .However, there is a belief that left handedness helps most people succeed in leadership roles. Famous intellectuals include : Albert Einstein,  Isaac Newton, Charles Darwin and Benjamin Franklin. Leaders also who are left handed are spotted including prominent personnel like Kenyan president Uhuru Kenyatta,US presidents such as Ronald Reaga,George H.W ,Bush Bill Clinton and Barack Obama .Musical stars  have not been left out such Lady Gaga,Justin Bieber and Eminem.

However, lefthanded people have been found to be more prone to migraine ,to stutter ,prone to dyslexia,ADHD,physiological disorder among others,so if you have a child who is left handed or even a grown up somewhere try to understand them and accommodate them in the society.
